Letter from Acting President

Dear Hockey Players and Parents,
 
We are very excited to be getting back to full practices, games and allowing spectators in the rinks after Feb 14^th.  We have all missed practicing and playing together and watching games.
 
This season has been one of the most challenging yet.  We have been constantly juggling ice times and COVID restrictions all year.  So far this year we have had added costs due to COVID cleaning and COVID workers at our arenas.  In addition during the past 2 months  we have added extra ice times as needed to accommodate the 10 participant restriction.
 
We have all been adapting our plans from week to week as government policies are updated.  We still do not know for sure when hockey will end this year or when seasons will end.  We are trying the best we can to manage through these many moving targets.
 
When we started planning for the season we budgeted for our normal lottery fundraising of $100 per family.  We are now asking all players and families to help us fulfil this commitment.  This fundraising is mandatory and each player will be billed for this.      
 
After the completion of the season and after all fees are paid, the CDMHA board will evaluate its financial position for the year.  If we have a surplus for the year, we will evaluate options on how best to use this surplus for the next hockey season.
 
The CDMHA board is committed to completing the hockey season in the best way possible, with our players, coaches and parents making the most of the next number of weeks.  Please be respectful and encourage your hockey players to participate, enjoy the hockey experience and most of all have fun!
