HNS Certification Requirements for CDMHA Volunteers

Hello and Welcome to our 2021-2022 Hockey Season!
***Before completing any of the requirements listed below, please contact Joline Robicheau at risk-management@cdmha.ca to confirm your interest in volunteering and what requirements are needed for that position.

Vaccination Update – September 14, 2021 from Sports Nova Scotia
“Starting Oct. 4, people who are 12 and older will need to provide proof of full vaccination to participate in most events and activities that bring groups of people together. While the policy is not yet final, it will apply to participants and spectators for indoor and outdoor sports practices, games, competitions and tournaments as well as indoor and outdoor extracurricular school-based activities, including sports.” –
For up to date information please see..   Recent Updates | Hockey Nova Scotia

Background Checks
All Clare-Digby Minor Hockey Association volunteers are required to complete the Criminal Record Check (CRC), Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC), Respect in Sports for Activity Leaders (previously Speak Out) and Planning a Safe Return to Hockey.  The Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) is a police information check plus a check to see if a person has a record suspension (pardon) for sexual offences and replaces the Child Abuse Registry Check.
The CRC and VSC are valid for 3 consecutive hockey seasons beginning September 1st and expires August 31st 3 seasons later.  (for example: new checks completed for the 2021-2022 season will be valid from September 2021 to August 2024).
Once all required checks are completed, please contact CDMHA Risk Management director, Joline Robicheau (risk-management@cdmha.ca) to make arrangements for collection. **Please remember to make a copy for your personal records.  The deadline for the completion and submission of the background checks and courses is December 1st.
